Ruper Visual-Direction

Ruper is a Swiss meal-planning app that turns supermarket promotions into AI-generated recipes. The design challenge was unusual: make a budget grocery tool feel anything but utilitarian. The decision was to go medieval — not as a gimmick, but as a genuine creative stance. Swiss supermarkets have been running weekly promotions since before anyone can remember; there's something ancient about the ritual of the market, the seasonal offerings, the economy of the harvest. The medieval frame made that subtext visible. Every visual decision flows from that premise. The dark parchment background, the gold heraldic accents, the store logos redrawn as guild crests, the swipe gestures renamed Estocade and Parade — nothing is decorative for its own sake. The UI speaks a consistent language where grocery shopping becomes a small act of ceremony.

The visual language of Joy Julius captures a nomadic gaze: a Nigerian-Swiss-London perspective that refuses to be singular. The eye is trained on heritage as contemporary—not nostalgic, not anthropological, but alive and worn today. We present Adire textiles, sculptural silhouettes, and ambiguous identities through a cinematic lens that honors both craft precision (Swiss inheritance) and cultural depth (Yoruba aesthetic). The work is intimate without being confessional; it shows people who know themselves.

I saw Edacy as more than a learning platform. It is a bridge between talent and opportunity across Africa. My visual approach was to create an identity that feels ambitious, credible, and accessible at the same time. The challenge was to represent advanced technology and professional growth without adopting the cold aesthetics often associated with global tech companies. The visual language had to reflect both rigor and optimism: a platform preparing the next generation of African builders, designers, product leaders, engineers, and entrepreneurs.

Système visuel construit autour d'une palette restreinte — noir profond, parchemin, laiton patiné — et d'un dialogue typographique entre serif éditoriale et mono technique. Chaque image, chaque illustration, chaque texte est traité comme un spécimen sur planche, pour que le site ressemble moins à un portfolio qu'à une revue naturaliste contemporaine.
